Athlete's Summer: Larissa Gasser

We want to know: how do the World Championship athletes train in summer? Where do they spend their time? Our alpine snowboarding hope Larissa Gasser kicks things off.

What is your typical day during summer training?

A typical day for me starts with a coffee with my mum, that's part of our routine. Then I go to the gym to do my strength training. In the afternoon, I usually do a coordination and endurance unit.

What do you do in your free time away from the board?

I spend a lot of time with family and friends, which is very important to me. I also have a dog whom I happily spend time with. And I also like to play golf or go horse riding when I find the time. In contrast to other sports, we are not quite so restricted and are allowed to do other activities from time to time. With a great deal of common sense, of course.

Your favourite Engadin spot in summer?

I really like the Alp Es-cha Dadour in Madulain: I like hiking or riding up there with the bicycle. And I really like swimming and cooling down in the cold waters of the Lej Nair after an intense workout.
