Switzerland Meeting Trophy 22.-24. June 2023

Every year, event planners from all over the world answer the call of SCIB to take part in the inspiring rally across Switzerland. Around 85 MICE specialists from Europe and North America as well as representatives from SCIB and other Swiss destinations enjoyed the journey from Zurich to St. Moritz with the Rhaetian Railway over the Landwasser Viaduct and the subsequent bus transfer from Ming Bus AG to the hotels.

After arriving at the Nira Alpina and Grand Hotel Des Bains Kempinski, the first evening ended with a cosy networking dinner in the rooftop bar at the Nira Alpina and the presentation of the various country teams.

The second day began with a hearty breakfast at the Bellavista restaurant in Surlej. After handing in their rally books to the team leaders, the participants set off on an e-bike tour from Surlej to St. Moritz, with a stopover at Lej Marsch, led by the bike guides from Suvrettasports. Once in St. Moritz, they switched from bikes to the Signal cable car.

Arriving at the mountain station, the participants were surprised by Nicole's herd of goats (Nicole Buess Mini Geiss–Dini Geiss) and accompanied to Salastrains in the form of a goat trek.

On Salastrains, the first rally games took place, such as cheese tasting with cheese from the Pontresina alpine dairy or crossbow shooting in the style of William Tell. Afterwards, the teams enjoyed the varied barbecue buffet from the Salastrains restaurant before continuing their journey of discovery by funicular to St. Moritz Dorf. There, further games were played, such as tablecloths in the Kulm Hotel, nut gateau tasting at Café Hanselmann, golf at Kulm Golf St. Moritz and putting together an oversized puzzle in the middle of the village square.

The individual country teams had the goal of getting as many points as possible to win the coveted trophy.

The day ended with a typical Swiss evening at the Diavolezza mountain restaurant. The guests marvelled at the breathtaking mountain scenery and enjoyed further regional specialities, while enjoying fondue and white wine at a traditional alphorn concert.

The next morning marked the end of the Meeting Trophy in the Engadin. The team vehicles were ready and waiting in front of the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski for the participants to set off on their journey over the Albula Pass to Zurich. This year's Meeting Trophy ended there in the evening with a summer party by the lake.
