The halfpipe is one of the most iconic disciplines in freestyle sports. In the impressively large U-shaped pipe, snowboard and freeski athletes launch off the edge and perform tricks at breathtaking heights, with spins and grabs before landing back in the pipe to set up for the next jump on the opposite side. Each run is judged based on height, difficulty, execution of tricks, and overall presentation.

Snowboard Halfpipe, Women:

  • Qualifications: 1 heat with 30 snowboard women, 2 runs, best run counts
  • Finals: 12 snowboard women, 2 runs, best run counts

Snowboard Halfpipe, Men:

  • Qualifications: 2 heats with 25 snowboard men each, 2 runs per heat. Best run counts. The top 8 snowboarders from each heat qualify for the finals.
  • Finals: 16 snowboard men, 2 runs, best run counts

Freeski Halfpipe, Women:

  • Qualifications: 1 heat with 30 freeskier women, 2 runs, best run counts
  • Finals: 12 freeskier women, 2 runs, best run counts

Freeski Halfpipe, Men:

  • Qualifications: 2 heats with 25 freeskier men each, 2 runs per heat. The top 8 freeskier men from each heat qualify for the finals.
  • Finals: 16 freeskier men, 2 runs, best run counts

Corvatsch / Murtél Middle Station, Silvaplana-Surlej – Accessible via the Corvatsch cable car.

The competition area extends below the Murtél middle station, in the upper section of the Murtél T-bar lift.

The competitions can be freely viewed with skis or snowboard along the competition area.

A ski pass is required to use the mountain lifts.

With non-slip footwear, the competitions can be viewed on foot along the halfpipe.

A pedestrian ticket is required for the Corvatsch cable car. This can only be purchased at the mountain railway ticket office.
